Awakening the Fluid Feminine Strength to Just Be

A woman in harmony with her spirit is like a river flowing. She goes where she will without pretense and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself.
— Maya Angelou

Many would say we live in the era of rising feminine power. That after millenia of being suppressed in patriarchal societies, we, collectively, are recognizing how unhealthy the imbalance has been for us. Women across the world are feeling more empowered to speak up, show up, explore their abilities and allow themselves to be seen. It is inspiring to witness.

I’m not here to glorify femininity or women, nor to diminish masculinity or men. After all, the yin and yang of masculine and feminine energies exist inside all of us, regardless of gender. It is the balance of the two that allows us all to live in harmony. I simply want to highlight the gentle strength of femininity that can be both soft and resolute, the nature of divine femininity that is loving and pure, nurturing and indestructible — the very nature that will carry humanity forward because of its resilience.

This is the very nature that has been widely misunderstood as weakness because it comes across as vulnerable. But we miss the true meaning of vulnerability, too. The openness and receptivity of being vulnerable is often seen as naive and unguarded. It does not, however, mean you allow yourself to be mistreated or harmed without regard. Even vulnerability is not without boundaries. The irony is, when we wholeheartedly trust the resilience of our feminine power, we will no longer fear harm, therefore allowing all boundaries to dissolve. This is when we are able to fully understand the gentle but tremendous strength behind just being.

In time, simply just being in our most relaxed manner will attract, influence, manifest everything that is meant to be in our life.

It is enough to just be

When we fully embrace our feminine energy, it feels comfortable to just be. We won’t feel the need to seek control or recognition, like the masculine energy often does; instead, we understand the beauty of quiet influence and the magic of perfect timing. We know that everything and everyone we come in contact with has been and will be touched by us. The question becomes, how do we want to touch them? Leading to, how do we want to be?

In each moment we are just being, we exude all that’s embedded within, vibrating from every single one of our cells. Whether we are aware of it or not, we can’t hide who we truly are inside. Our energy speaks louder than our words. So the act of trying to manipulate a situation or conceal the truth is simply an illusion. If the truth is not heard, it can be felt, sooner or later.

Pure femininity resides in that comfortable knowledge that we don’t need to work hard to become someone or try to be seen in a certain way. We can simply just be, and that in itself is powerful. It’s not a power that chases a target or builds a structure, it’s a power that nurtures all other powers by just existing. It is often unseen, maybe unrecognized and underappreciated at times, but it is most definitely in control. Because of its very nature, this power does not need a trophy or a title. This power knows, without it, nothing can grow.

Influence without force

The feminine power has a tremendous amount of influence. As I have mentioned earlier, we exude our entire being from deep within, without even trying. Each person responds to us from their way of being, whether they know it or not. If we pay close enough attention, we will notice how each animal and each plant responds to our energy. The birth of a new dynamic is created every time two beings form a relationship. Any relationship. You will be of influence to one another whether you like it or not.

The quiet influence without force or agenda is the charming effect of feminine power. It is not purposeful or manipulative, it does not know what it does but it influences the outcome because of its very existence. It is only there because its natural way of being landed itself there. You can say, it is meant to be of influence for that particular outcome of a situation. It was welcomed into that space that needed the balance from this power.

When we try to influence an outcome with force we often meet resistance. We then invite a counterforce into the space — it’s the law of cause and effect, or karma. While this may be necessary at times, more often than not, it creates more obstacles than progress.

The feminine power flows like water and understands the value of fluidity. It knows when to reserve its power of force until it’s absolutely necessary — remember, water is the softest and strongest element simultaneously. The feminine power understands when to allow things to unfold in its own time and does not waste its energy on something that is not yet mature, all the while resting in its relaxed nature of being. The feminine power is patient, and can afford to be, because it knows that the desirable outcome is in a matter of time.

Kindness without sacrifice

The feminine energy of kindness and compassion produces a magnitude of influence that can melt hearts, dissolve conflicts, and unite kingdoms. Those who experience true loving and nurturing qualities of femininity have no need to quarrel or seek vengeance with another, because they will understand there is a better way. Even if that way isn’t visible, it exists.

While the feminine energy is compassionate and gracious, it has learned its lessons, too. We, indeed, live in a new era where the feminine energy is claiming a new dimension of power — in that more and more of us are recognizing the power we’ve possessed all along. We are letting go of our victim mentality, trauma-ridden pasts, and taking ownership of our choices, for better or worse.

While we want to preserve our divine feminine nature of all-encompassing kindness, we are no longer willing to be the sacrifice in the process. We are here to live, and live well. And we feel okay by setting a well-guarded boundary against those who wish to violate it.

Coming into the feminine power fully means we forgo blame and demand, give grace to anyone who needs it, and heal, guide, and create with those who are destined to dwell in our space. We give unconditionally but not without limitations. Our responsibility to nurture ourselves is sacred, it serves as preparation to nurture others. We cannot be of support if we are depleted. We need to be mindful of not allowing others to drain our essence and rob our power. In order to rest in our nature of just being, we need to keep our energy vibrant and fluid. That is the only way we can continue to be resilient in life.
